It just looks so piecemeal, like you were doing it save money.Or, you could cover those small patches with a rug or something but then it looks odd when you show the place why the rest of the place is practically empty but yet there's a random rug lying on the floor.Even then, the tenant will complain and demand new carpeting when they move in and discover the problem areas.As you can tell, I've been thinking long and hard on how to avoid buying all new carpeting.

The wooden floors were last refinished in 2020 (have all receipts), last tenant move out in 2022 with no issues to the floor (have pictures from move-out inspection),  2023 move out - large parts of the wooden floor are covered in black chemical residue (maybe from cheap rugs?)
