Sorry for the confusion on that.Before I went to these lengths I'd take an isolated look at your house. 

I mean, that’s what they are there for, to isolate fixtures for repairs, etc.  

LLC's generally are used to isolate business assets from personal assets, and as the business grows to separate them to reduce risk.The old adage of "don't put all your eggs into one basket" captures alot of what the LLC's are made for.Here is more information that may be helpful.

Was this isolated post in response to a particular thread and it somehow got detached from the thread? 

Folks don't generally operate like that in isolation they would want their investment secured by a property, and unless you already know this person you may want to dig in a bit more on the relevant laws.

Also, (based on the schools I was at) colleges tend to be extremely isolated and insular and their courses are grounded in theory and idealism, not reality.

Technology has advanced far enough to allow one to pull isolated information and protect personal finances from being unnecessarily disclosed in bank statements.To your success!
