Those few that are still buying to hold virtually always are doing large value add that virtually always is more than just a rehab.  

Do you get an inspection and just let the potential seller say they need to wait for that to be done, or do you hire a GC to give you an estimate?

If the house is vacant, I like these to be Virtually Staged Pictures... 

(Inspectors are generalists, so specialists are essential for plumbing and electrical issues in older homes.)Structural Concerns: If potential structural damage is spotted, hire an engineer to assess it properly.Be Diligent and Proactive: Old homes often require extra due diligence.

Until then, it is inefficient to exert such effort looking at properties when virtually everyone I have interest in will be redeemed.

Ensure your records include details of any hired help and the tasks they performed.
