Google some articles but a tough road ahead.

I just did a quick google search and I saw A LOT of opinions about it.

quick google search said NO license required  but it also said to double check with the state.

Too many investors just grab the first one in a Google search, the one with lowest fees, or the one with a flashy website.

A quick Google search should yield you some results :) 

If anyone has referrals or knows of reliable channels (like Google or specific websites) for finding licensed contractors in the High Point/Jamestown/Greensboro area, I would really appreciate your input.Also, any helpful tips and experiences related to construction, dealing with appraisals, titles, and refinancing would be incredibly valuable.

@Enrique Mendez Hop on google and look up "First Time Homebuyer, Illinois resources" There are $10K downpayment loans and grants available to first time home buyers.

A few tips on the website and on meeting some fellow investors:Search for local meetups here or google a local REI club to network with other investors.

Most markets the physical vacancy is 5-10%, good chance you can find it by googling and seeing what the average is.
