Hi BP community,Newbie here - still have yet to buy my first REI deal - but I am currently in the process of selling our current home (3br 1.5 ba townhouse in Provo) via Homie.com.

I have gone across the Grand Canyon and back in 16.5 hours and hiked/run to the top of Mount Whitney. 

So far, I have looked a little into Las Vegas, Provo, Austin, and Orlando.

Even with the lower property taxes, you can't cashflow anywhere near as well as you can in Texas buying in Boise or Provo.

In our local area, we have fruit packing house tours, four or five of the 21 California Missions are within an hours drive, visiting wine country and all the tasting rooms to our north (use a designated driver, please), there is Yosemite, Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park......All of the above are just the things in the United States. 

Almanor of course is going to be very cold much of  the year.Tahoe well that one will bust your budget for water front :)So many of the lakes in CA are man made Clearlake is the largest natural lake in the State and natural lakes generally have a nicer shoreline.. were man made lakes damned up big canyons and can have very steep shore lines and subject to huge swings in how full they are in any given year.Lake Chelan in Wa is awesome awesome... you can buy lake front thereAlong with the big lakes out of Spokane WA... 

We have snowboarding/skiing, boating, Mountain biking, rock climbing, canyoneering, kiteboarding and paragliding, dirtbiking, off-roading and the list goes on.
