I have spent quite a bit of time in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan and the Dominican Republic. 

Texas, as much a free republic as it claims to be, has some really strange laws and codes just like every other jurisdiction.Thank you for looking into this as I was actually looking into this type of deal for my brother in law.Adam

But dont forget that america is not a democracy, it is a republic which is far better than a domocracy, bucause it (supposedly) attempts to give everyone equal rights.

In California, the state never takes title to tax defaulted real property.The US is a young republic by some standards.
