I expect to move in 5-10 years and not sure if I will sell at that point or keep as a rental but there should be plenty of time to let things play out.I did see artist renderings of what basically looks like the Americana in Glendale with a huge outdoor retail/living spaces and I have to admit that would be nice to have down the street.

He can't legally do your yard without a service contract agreement between the parties and then demand payment, arbitrarily, for services rendered.

@Derek Bonanni if you really HAVE to terminate the lease, and you're using the standard CA Association of Realtor's lease, it has a clause says "if .... that render Premises totally or partially uninhabitable, either Landlord or Tenant may terminate this Agreement by giving the other written notice." eg. if the place is uninhabitable (flooding, pest, mold etc) before moving in, you can terminate the lease and return the deposit (plus some good faith money).

But bidders who either hadn't seen the property in the last 48 hours, didn't read the newspaper or watch TV, were feverishly bidding on a house totally rendered into a pile of ashes.As I always say buying property/liens at tax sale is the most dangerous way of buying real estate, no home inspections, usually can't see the inside, no home warranty and no do-over.
