At some point in time, I'll be earning a living from my current business, commissions, and rental cashflow and will be able to decide how much time to devote to each. 

Probably, this woman is trying to scam you, but even if she's not, YOU SHOULD STILL START AN EVICTION.

After talking to them, I got the feeling that it was a scam.

I'm in the process of learning about it and it's just a question I have, I'm not considering doing anything in the way of scamming anyone or disguising any activity...

It's like they're gloating about the gullibility of those who would fall for such a scheme/scam!
