The problem with rents is that when you apply for an adjustment the rent might go up as requested or it might actually go down as we have had happen a couple times.The good news is that the tenants tend to stay longer and the 3rd of the months is like a little celebration when that money shows up in your account.

I feel like networking has been the best way of immersing myself into the culture and the community.  

My ultimate goal in real estate is to own enough rentals that I can live off the income, travel the world and experience different cultures. 

Yes, there are occasionally large judgments, but they are rarer than popular culture would have you believe. 

I've found that my experiences living elsewhere have helped me understand how different areas of the country work (prices, rents, culture, opportunities, etc). 

In addition, the quality of PM companies can be pretty bad (just as in any market), and the language & cultural barrier can be a real challenge in you managing them.

In the summer months especially, I think Barcelona can compete with any city for vibrancy, aliveness, culture, and quality of life.
