The loan can be structured with no pre-payment penalties so your not tied in for a handful of years.

Why not pull out the capital you have tied up to have a larger down payment (or even spread it over multiple properties) and maybe even keep some extra money in the bank for reserves and renovations?

I agree it is important to work with a title company to gather more information on the property to learn more on the full picture with the current mortgage tied to the home.
