A little about me,  I am an investor from Silicon Valley doing a few things- investing in real estate, am a real estate broker in California and work in Technology sector in Silicon Valley.

I spent 8 months in Palo Alto, so I know that Silicon Valley is NOT the place to find cash-flowing properties, but I'm curious how you decided where the best place was.

Hi, I am Reinaldo, currently living in Mountain View, CA with my wife and two kids.Recently I have become more and more interested in real state out of Silicon Valley (prices are just too high for me here), so I am looking forward to make our first real estate investment by getting a rental property.I am open to locations, and have some down payment money and great credit score. 

It’s very easy in Silicon Valley to fall into this trap because so many people are doing “amazing” things such as traveling the world or buying luxury cars and huge homes.

I also spoke with a Silicon Valley firefighter thinking of moving to Sac not too long ago... they do looong work shifts, so it's not crazy to commute in to work and enjoy the higher quality of life while not at work.Rent growth is strong.

Does anyone have any contacts in the San Jose / Silicon Valley / SF Bay Area that they would recommend?

Just understand that the primary reason is emotional - which is fine - just being honest is important.what i think is unique the what I call the Silicon valley effect..  2 mil for a 1500 sq ft rancher.. and then in the driveway are used Camry. you go to other areas of the country.. and you have the 150k house with the new SUV  Camper boat probably as many toys as the cost of the home .. this is quite regional.
