I did have a rental with a slightly gray tub (not from age, just a fashion color) and found some brown-gray flooring to put in there to coordinate and the tub fit in just fine.

I had to re-rebuild a shed as it was not the exact material they require, and also found out I couldn't replace wood trim on the house with vinyl as that book requires wood trim painted a specific color until all owners on one street agree to all replace with vinyl at the same time.

We typically do trim, doors and ceiling in one color; sometimes kitchen in its own color; sometimes all bathrooms in another color; and then all the remaining interior walls the same color.

True colors show through when someone suggests that it's okay to cross ethical lines and they simply can't be trusted. :)
