An expensive currency will cause their exports to collapse, and that could take down the government.I would consider just putting it into gold -- bullion (and maybe canned goods) if you are worried about the collapse of civilization, or a gold ETF if you want liquidity and trust someone else to hold onto it.Another hedge against collapsing currencies is any sort of commodity.
