I want to start a monthly meet up for active & aspiring investors in Salt Lake where we come together to bounce ideas off one another, connect through conversation, and keep each other motivated in our investing goals.I started a Facebook group called "Utah Real Estate in the Park" for this purpose after getting a lot of hits on a post I made asking who would be interested in this idea, but no one commits to the events I create. 

@Mike Moe we provide snowblowers so we have those started, with a full tank of gas and a full gas can, we have the lawnmowers winterized, and we provide a 5-gallon bucket filled with salt and a scoop put by the main enterance.

Anyone and everyone would be awesome to talk to and if there is someone in the Salt Lake City, UT area that would be willing to meet up at some point that would be amazing.

My girlfriend and I currently live in CA, but we are looking to move to Utah in the Ogden or Salt Lake City area next summer.

Roof/hvac ageWeather conditions/damage/snow removal/landscaping/salt waterSiding/roof materials (cedar vs stucco, asphalt or rolled versus tile.)Landlord/tenant friendly state  And, as you pointed out, property price. you want to lose money?

As I researched these, I received nebulous answers as to what you were really getting for your money and how I would be assured that what I was investing in was actually worth its salt. 

Take everything with a grain of salt, especially if coming from the seller's side.
