Even then some have already loosened up when the government finally started buying mortgages again.I also just spoke to a contracting business and an auto body shop and they are swamped, which I've heard from other business owners as well...again in my area.

All are just about operating under the old speakeasy logic, but then people that you see on American Greed unwind the process and rip hundreds of people off, because all the small guys are operating in the shadows under the 508B laws, which creates a lot of closed door transactions that no one learns about till after the fallout. 508C has been promising, I just think it need to be loosened a bit more to allow a little more flexibility in terms of number of deals one can offer, and cooling periods..

You will now see that with financing for new builds FINALLY loosening up IE HML are doing them for well qualified and banks are doing them etc.. some of your bigger turn key and flippers are now doing new construction.

There are talks that there will be a push to loosen restrictions some with some changes in the Zoning Code to make it easier to add ADUs and do conversions, but we'll see if that works...

They did add some rules (things like square footage bonuses, etc)  for preserving the existing house when adding additional units, and they loosened or removed parking requirements.
