Whole different vibe than a hotel alternative.

A friend of mine just got a hotel in Jamaica, she claims it will pay off in 3 year.

The room costs $735,000, but the hotel manages it and rents it out on behalf of the owner. 

The area is not the worst or best, but someone could save money over the hotels in the area and have some privacy to boot. 

I want to eventually start an alternative/DIY homes contracting business where we build upscale container homes, geodesic domes, tiny homes, convert trailers into themed hotel rooms etc so seeking for some solid advice in that realm. 

Also, if you live in one of the units you could do AirBnB for the other units and I don't think it would be considered a "hotel" since you live in the property as well (check that though). 

It may cost you a few nights' stay in a hotel.
