I'm looking at a community for people to move into and support each other, move of a progressive retirement type community, but we will not be in the city limits.I have thought about pulling one up beside my house and renting it;)

More stable in my opinion, just read up on current restrictions or coming restrictions.

A few years later Nickerson “retired”, Lowery wrote his own book, and included “flipping” properties - what’s now referred to as “wholesaling”.   

But, to retire off of real estate, one either needs a lot of time to pass, or needs a large base of capital.

On another forum I was surprised by far the best received was a post I did on Selfstorage and retirement life.

Consider states with strong rental demand, population growth, and stable or appreciating real estate markets.Financing: Look into various financing options.

But, nearing retirement and then, will be looking more at the type of vehicle  you supply. 

You want to make sure the renter arbiter is financially stable with good income and good credit and at least owns the house they live in so they know that if they mess up they have a lot to lose.Usually most renters do not have any assets and are usually not so financially stable.

I had a super traditional W2 job and, BECAUSE OF BIGGERPOCKETS, made the transition from W2 -> into a non-traditional start-up prop-tech company (fired twice in one month)-> Then, I started our own tech-focused general contracting business serving new to intermediate real estate investors.I've more or less retired as a real estate investor (I still have about 50+ doors, but nearly every one of my deals went sideways for one reason or another), and NOW my ONE THING is working as a GC.
