Looks like the program is not open yet, for applications.There are always private charities and some state programs that assist with rental payments, without the ERA program.Catholic Charities and Facing Forward just to name a couple.

Words like "honor" and "obligation" start getting pretty fuzzy when the money they spend isn't money they worked for (Section 8 vouchers, LIHEAP payments, SNAP foodstamps, disability payments, charity grant money).

There has to be some way to overlap the two worlds of business and charity/kindness/etc, but it is likely more nuanced than we think when getting into REI.Perhaps the guardrail on the other side here is: how do we become excellent at running our businesses as businesses without becoming jaded, cynical, and closed off to opportunities for kindness and service.It's a conundrum, but one worth hashing out and holding in tension.
