I was hoping to hear some of the common lenders or institutions that my fellow canadians might commonly use for hard money loans.

As a broker, I'm always trying to find the best deal for the specific client and property.If you are looking for local private money lenders, your local real estate investment groups might have some leads for you as well.Most institutional private lenders are going to need an appraisal/valuation of the property, and permits to be issued for the construction of the building (if your area requires it).

i'm in hopedale MA. i use rentredi for tenant payments. no complaints, simple, i like it. a BANK that also offers rent collection seems over the top to me. i'd rather keep using my small local bank. i also don't keep security deposits because the laws in MA re: how they can be used are so insane that i'd rather just not deal with it.

Financial institutions have long looked at the money that comes from RE transactions and feel that they don't make enough of it and have made attempts via legislation to move into the domain of Realtors but the NAR has successfully lobbied to stop them.

I'm looking for a good CPA in Massachusetts that has experience in real estate investing.

When you say private lender, is this institutional capital or from an individual?
