They leave notes for me (and each other) on the fridge for non emergency repair requests.However, they have worked out house rules among themselves for quiet hours and have figured out a rotating schedule for who takes the cans to the curb, who buys things like toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, etc.We have another townhouse in the same complex that rents to a traditional family for $1975.

If you put a lamp on the floor and put about five or six pie tins around it with water in it then squirt some dish soap in it and turn the light on.

Makes total sense for too much soap and water residue is not good for the carpet and could attract dirt in the future.
