And even though those metrics work for some people, I felt that my time was worth more than what I was making, and that I needed to find a way to put a lot more velocity to my investing to get where I needed to be.

For us, that means developing strategies to increase the velocity of money - value add projects where we can force appreciation, pull out money in shorter periods of time (1-2 years), and recycle the equity.   

The point of BRRRR is not just to buy properties under value; the point to increase the velocity on your money.

I suppose if you do velocity with a home building business then it makes sense as costs go down and profit comes up a little.   

Then the comparison hinges on velocity of money returning to you whiich is usually expressed as a cash on cash return, but I dont want to confuse you. 

Trying to get dissimilar fill material to stay in there can be hard depending on velocity.

That is a far cry from dropping to zero I agree, but it does speak to the velocity of value decline when it does decline.

I'm not messing with the trusts either.I also believe in the velocity of money, using it more often will give you a better yield than allowing it to sit long term, I'm sure my past transactions did better for me than going long and certainly better than landlording and managing.

But definitely use the velocity of money theory to keep the cashflow moving in the direction that creates equity and cashflow - buy more assets.

But the function is limited by the diameter of the drain line, the slope and the length of the drop (added velocity=greater siphon).
