This is a nice benefit to technically increase the rent during the year.

The house is 107 years old and had a pretty lackluster renovation completed on it, so I knew there were going to be some issues, but also some things I know I can solve with my property maintenance background. 

(To be transparent, my background is in SFRs and residential rehabs in a different geography -- not self storage.)

It's a background check of sorts. 

There a significant deficit of technical and professional knowhow to get past here.

I like the pre-qualification and application process, as well as the reasonably-priced, tenant-paid background checks.
