The younger and lefter folks tend to be on the side of 'STRs are bad because the regular people can't find a house thing'...I think the other 90% likes the new lodging trend of STRs (vs Hotels) so much that they will thrive....Just my .02

How to add value and 'specialness' to your lodging and make it more fun for all concerned.... 

One the one hand the cities will of course prefer the ability to generate additional tax revenue by imposing higher fees and lodging tax to those operating their properties to this capacity. 

I ask others that visit if it was difficult to find lodging or not when they travel there. 

But if your lodging is $1000/night and you're doing $50 per night for heat… that may not fly. 

If the damage is severe and requires temporary relocation, the last thing you want to have to deal with is negotiating lodging accommodations on your behalf.

This includes 20% Airbnb fees, lodging and property taxes. 

I end up paying her 40 hours per month and free lodging.

@Shaival PatelI don't know about this proposal and I am all for a  level playing field so if they propose the same tax on all lodging that makes sense,  but I am not sure this is what that is.  

Even if you decide to add a hunting lodge, etc... you may at least want a lot that can pass a perc test (so you can add a septic tank)Check for right-of way and easements on the propertyAnother possible revenue stream could be the trees themselves.
