Really puts into perspective my strategy given my current situation.I will continue to accumulate capitol and work on my skills/knowledge for when i will embark on my rental real estate journey whether it be here (if i stay longer than anticipated) or when I come back to the US once my contract is completed.

Super helpful and their CEO Zach is very knowledgeable and obviously cares about making sure his clients are taken care of.

Have some fundamental knowledge before you run in and buy, I seen a lot of people who didn't understand it got the fomo and spent all their money. 

And you have to really know the market and area we did not have the time to drive everything you just had to already have knowledge of the area and what the parcels looked like etc..

So depend on which turnkey company you work with, sometimes it's not that expensive than do it yourself, but you will get the knowledge and experience from that company.   

I've got 2 condos, a 2 bed at Maui Banyan and a 1 bed next door at Kihei Akahi.I'd definitely agree with @Patrick Franta - from my experience as well, the 1 bed unit has performed better.Also props to @Mike Neubauer for sharing his knowledge and experience with me - I'd definitely recommend you take him up on his offer if you have questions etc.I recently heard that the County of Maui is considering a ~50% increase in property tax for short term rentals from the current $9.37 rate to $15.41, equal to what time share units pay.
