I would say it all depends on location.For me, Home Depot is the most convenient for building materials (wood, sheetrock, screws), but for finishes including appliances, cabinets, windows, and flooring, I shop around my local distributors.

If your doing a patch that uses cement for the finish compound then I would use a lightweight heavily sanded mix to do my patch.

Regarding the open permit, we’re just finishing up a few items for the final inspections and occupancy cert. so no concerns there I just didn’t include that information here.

The only time we use ceramic tile is for showers with a window, where we can't use a surround, and then I will still use LVT for the bathroom floor.However, because we cater to families with kids, our winters are long and to avoid cabin fever we usually have a finished basement and carpet is the way to go.
