The project came with a mountain of reno knowledge to add to my handyman knowledge, and grew a love of GC'ing projects (and a lot of heartache and screaming, but that's for another episode).After running the numbers, I realized it was better to move into the completed cottage (950 sq ft) and rent my previous primary residence (1300 sq ft) as a month-to-month furnished rental.

I do love this market, it is a high demand area with many bustling scenes and great weather, and IMO fairly recession robust because it is more of a high end destination, meaning most visitors are not as affected by downturns.

It'll be a regional bank doing them for a loss to build karma, or to check Community Reinvestment Act boxes, that sort of stuff... still kicking and screaming, but they'll do it, they have some incentive other than making a buck on that particular loan (they won't).
