I think you are confusing adverse possession with prescriptive easement.

I am a physician looking for passive investment at least initially.

Until the right of redemption has been foreclosed or the title has ripened by prescription, a tax deed has the same force and effect as a lien.So, if I buy a foreclosure, I gain possession but have no rights to the property as far as "clear title"?
