Knowing that even in the early 2000's Denver was one of the hottest markets, I can say that most markets should work for "free" living if you can rent all but your bedroom.That said, location is a huge piece of the puzzle, and there's no way the same landlord who rented to me could have covered his entire mortgage if his house had been in Boulder.

I agree with @Vik J. but what puzzles me is that I had heard that these jobs will largely be 50k/year jobs.

Less money spent on supplies, less wear and tear on your place, less money spent on utilities, fewer guest headaches, etc.Bottom line: there’s a LOT of puzzle pieces you have to get right to make this work really well, but once you master it, it can be very rewardingI preferred to invest in the year-round high revenue parts of the US where you can earn a lot of money year-round.

Once you have them, you will not only have that piece of the puzzle, you will have a piece of your system in place which will boost your confidence.

Puzzled, we've tried to even ascertain if the name was male or female which could help in narrowing down family member.

This isn't how to balance a checkbook or make change (both are lost arts...just stand in front of a cashier and hand them $10.10 to buy something that costs, $8.05, and look at the puzzled look on their faces). 

I am not saying all appraisers are great just saying they do perform a valuable piece of the puzzle.

It's not for everyone, but it can be a HUGE piece of the puzzle to accelerate your path to FI and leaving that JOB.

These are all pieces of a puzzle which at times can be quite stressful.
