We are becoming less of a seasonally driven market, but with a teaching hospital (UT’s med school), 3 other 4-year colleges, snowbirds, and proximity to an INTL airport, Galveston has plans A, B, C, and maybe even Z for strategies.

No professional wants to deal with 20 something students when they get off a 24 hours shift.So if the traveling person idea is appealing, check with Children's and see if they have any kind of dept or HR staff who help find short to mid term housing for traveling med folks.

As for investing in the area, in my personal opinion I would stay away from KC Kansas except for certain areas near KU Med and south of I-35  The better areas are in Johnson County, but they will be higher priced.
