I'm not sure how humid it is in your part of the state, but I've seen lots of houses in Houston with this problem.

If you go over, you will have a cool house with plenty of clammy humidity.

The A/C line was cut, and the house has been vacant for about a year, so the inner part of the old unit is probably totally corroded (its hot and humid here) so add that to the budget, about 4k.Tile in the kitchen, stripped floors and the drywall looks in good shape.Bedrooms all look pretty good, (except where they ripped out the A/C line for $5 worth of copper....) and this guy wants 5-7k?!

I keep hearing stucco should be avoided in Houston but then I also hear that it is ok *IF* the material and installation is good.Or simply have a bigger capex/maintenance reserve to account for rainy and humid Houston?

So there will likely be humidity and possibly some moisture in the summer and after big rains.

I’ll be in FL next week for some volunteer work and I’m planning on seeing if I can handle the humidity.

The house is in LA county, so we are getting warmer weather, but it’s also pretty humid still.  

But I'm in Wisconsin and,, like Minnesota, it's the humidity that kills you.

You'll love Charleston as long as the summer heat and humidity doesn't do you in.    

As to climate control, I havent asked about it, but have seen the humidity control as you mentioned for "business storage" options.
