The website makes it seem like its mission is more for representing the interests of the Asian RE community domestically, and not necessarily to cultivate overseas investment.

If you don't factor in a fee you are hopefully going to be able to partner on the deal and get your $ on the back end (which is a great way to get into this business with not a lot of money or experience but it takes time and trust to cultivate these type of relationships - hence, again, try to find a Meetup and/or REIA in your group where you can start networking).

Your goals and ambitions for the next couple of years are much grander and broader than mine.So in the past couple of weeks, I've decided to do a couple of things:1 - continue to look for a job, but focus on a possibly lower level, lower paid position where I can truly help people I care about.2 - at the same time, because I'm assuming #1 isn't going to work out, begin to cultivate clientele for a tax and bookkeeping business.  

You are far better off cultivating relationships in true Private Money with local Doctors and Dentists and business people you already know, IMHO.

Presumably, you're also cultivating a buyers-list.  

My goal over the next few months is to meet AS MANY people as possible and deliver my business plan in hopes to cultivate potential business partners.  

While the MLS sites can sometimes find a deal, the best way is off market.Start cultivating the money people as well. 

But trust me when I say this is a relationship worth cultivating (and keeping to yourself!).  

In an ideal world, you should be cultivating a network of potential private money lenders and/or prospective investment partners before you find the property.
