The advantages to me are: I would get the same retirement income, reduce work associated with ownership, eliminate vulnerability to changing market and interest rates and eliminate the emotional pain associated with giving so much money (especially interest) to the bank.I've given enough to my kids, so who cares about them :) so my perfect scenario would be to do the above and, at some point, to sell everything so that I can live off the equity.
