I pulled out some of the dirt from the old ducts…it looks like mostly hair and some dirt, probably termite frass and probably some combo of other dirt things from rats like feces and urine.

The tech went out and found a makeshift living space complete with mattress, a urine jug and other personal belongings set up in the attic above.

Dog & cat urine can seep through carpet into the wood floor beneath, so that might be something to look at to.

She said it stinks and smells like urine as well.

Most young folks clean up but a few do almost nothing, the guys who fish are usually ok, but they are clearly not used to cleaning a kitchen and it takes an extra half hour to clean up the grease from frying fish and to get the fish smell out.Overall I am pleased and grateful at my guests who clean up after them selves, but I don't require it.It is a different story if I find peanut butter and jelly in the carpet or worse pet urine or crap in the house.

So I put a dozen bait stations around the driveway and house.I bought some fox urine for them to spread around cause they thought that would do the trick but I also made it clear that I've done pretty much everything I can and that I'm not responsible for their car wires.My lease doesn't say the tenant is responsible for rodent control - I'll fix that with the next tenants.They've been good tenants, paid rent on-time (they've been there 5 months so far), seem to be taking good care of the house, yard, landscaping, etc. 

Is it urine smell or just the smell of dogs?
