It may sound nice to pay a 6% management fee but the extra fees can add up to be more than the other company that charges 10% with no additional fees.

Sounds like I can safely write them off only after I purchase the rental and start the renovations to ultimately rent it out.

You need to attack each positive reply you get at each stage of the funnel. 

It sounds to me like your Austin home is a "Sell" candidate - while it could appreciate over the long-term, you might be sinking cash into it for many more years in order to realize that appreciation.

Melanie:You say I sound like an operator, but you may have missed that I'm talking about my PASSIVE investments.  

Sounds like you are getting hit with a lender who has overlays and possibly miscommunication between the loan officer/processor to the underwriter.

We have an acoustic panel set in there for aesthetics and sound.
