I am not an attorney, but from my experience, if the mortgage is discharged in the bankruptcy, and there is no equity in the property, the bank proceeds with foreclosure.

The silver lining was I got bk discharged in 2006 and was scared of debt.  

I run into similar stories when helping vets investigate what benefits they are eligible for, which depends largely on the nature of their discharge and time served.

@Paul Scammacca- thanks - the  timelines for HELOCs   after a CH7 BK  will likely vary  quite a bit for  heloc lenders  ...mos  1st mtg  lenders will require  4 yrs  from  discharge  or  7 yrs  if you have  filed multiple times  ...I would recommend trying 1) the present  1st mtg lender  2) the place where you bank  3) smaller to mid size  credit unions or banks in the area close to the property - good luck

I had a short sale one time that I had to have a tax lien (around $30,000) discharged from the property.  

You cant discharge a liability judgement in a bankruptcy, so the only way you get rid of it is to pay it.

I bought a corona discharge unit years ago for about $150.

It shows deeds, mortgages, discharges etc.

The people I worked with didn't have bank accounts or debit cards unless it was the $100 gift Visa they give when they discharged people from jail.
