I was VERY VERY close to buying Spanish almond plots which were "improved" farmland with aquafers, etc. 

Of course, if you buy them, the depreciation clock starts over.

Have you spoken with builders to see what they buy lots for?

Select leads that are fresh and fit your buy box and call them.

I was wondering what your experience has been, good or bad with buying rental property in close proximity to the firehouse/station?

Goal is long term rental buy and hold.

But yes long term I am interested in buy and hold single and multifamily.

build it instead of buying it. especially in the 5-50 range you are going to get garbage that's 80-120 years old in c neighborhoods. i can find land in almost any zip code and make the numbers work in columbus. or partner on a project locally. just my 2 cents but build to rent is much stronger right now in my opinion in columbus than buying existing assets
