The money STR’s generate for the area is astronomical, not to the amount of jobs that tourism creates here.  

I'm just afraid that the lenders willing to lend at that low amount will have astronomical fees attached to their loans which may break an otherwise good deal. 

If they are in pre-foreclosure I will be willing to pay their debt (as long as it isn't an astronomical price) and also help them with a few thousand dollars to move out.

@Nathan WilliamsHuge issues right now in Florida Texas and California with getting insurance coverage and when you do find it the cost is astronomical.

After the 1st month, I received an astronomical high water bill/sewer.

The property is priced super low and pencils out on paper to be an astronomically high return.  

Know the permit fees they can be astronomical and kill a deal, if you don't know approximate cost all the way through the process you should find out or you are really rolling the dice. 

Let me start by saying, I have been following the market in the areas you mention and I cannot tell you how astronomical the prices are in those areas.

@Patrick Hagerty It depends on whether that $200K is a down payment or your total budget.If it's a down payment, most of greater Boston is open to you, however the prices in most of Boston are astronomical.  3-plexes in Jamaica Plain (where I grew up) are routinely selling close to $2M.
