Every material was found on the Craig's list, Facebook market and Home Depot clearance rack.

I know this is an old thread, I just had a follow-up question to add in.Is there a way to get builders and inspectors (or other professionals) to create some document of the rough date that a house was built (i.e. the type of build methods and material used can determine the year of the house)?

This is only going to work if he has his on capital as of course he would have to cover all the material and overhead in the mean time.
