I did not get any text books as I did not want to pay extra for them, I did get a book of practice exams to prep for the test 1 week before I sat and I think that helped me.

Yeah I've heard and seen guidelines as well then again guidelines and actual practice is where reality(rubber) meets the road.I've done 2-3 duplexes in Santa Ana, CA and we used 25%.
