As we grew we had to try new managers. 

I have 3 rentals and I grew up in a rental family (father owns 30+ from single-residence, to efficiencies, to commercial) so I understand the pains that come with all of that.

I grew up being the most miserable piece of **** I knew.

@Ray Reed I'll look back at what i've read but i grew up in and am currently helping my grandparents with their taxes in UC and they tax at the highest rate for props based on what i know...i could be wrong as i'm not an expert...

My wife and I just moved back to the Des Moines, IA area (we both grew up here in Iowa) after being away for about 8 years in Denver, CO.

Recently I had a tenant, who grew the stuff under a grow light in the garage.

Not everyone can follow the footsteps of one person's experience based on their personal income, cash reserves, risk tolerance, etc.Personally for me, as my portfolio grew from 1 to 7 properties in about 1.5 years, I saw that risk in real estate gets mitigated when you have more than just a few properties.

@Thaddeus Duffy I don't have any investments in Waterbury, but I grew up in the area.

I can't remember the last time I heard so many long-time locals complain about the city they grew up in.
