I just got back from Playa Del Carmen on Sunday, to some snow and 30 degree NY weather.

For stability I would think Richardson would weather a downturn better than Frisco, Garland, or The Colony would.

But you're absolutely right that Maine people can be resistant to folks from away.

Negatives: Weather, of course.

The location is actually really beautiful it is just rough to access in bad weather. 

If it's a bad (high resistance) connection it's a definite fire hazard and needs to be addressed immediately.

@Julian Dover Weather is not a problem in Chicago if children are not involved.

There are certain limited cases however where the wind zone standards for manufactured homes exceed the state standards for wind resistance.

I expect a month or so buffer, but I'm also wondering if the cold weather in general is a major deterrent for renters relocating.
