Lenders pick the appraisal and it is supposed to be unbiased.

However the mere fact that some have alterior motives does not mean that the advice provided doesn't still hold value.I try to give as much unbiased & helpful advice as possible.

you need an unbiased 3rd party person to handle that......a GC can send you pics and thats all that you will have until you fly out but it could be too late by then......I did a flip with a partner that lived in israel....and i managed everything....ive never met my partner from israel....he has never been here

While hiring a CRE will PROBABLY get you the best and most unbiased advise; there is an extra cost since the CRE will charge you on a fee basis as would a CPA or Attorney.
