I'm now focusing on better neighborhoods in growth markets which offer better appreciation and hopefully less headaches. 

It seems to be tracking status of the areas, which if there's still momentum in those areas could help situate someone for future growth. 

I moved here from Florida after seeing the expansive growth in the Columbus market.

I will offer this suggestion, If you can secure long-term tenants post-leaseback and consider future value-add improvements, the property could yield even greater returns.Also, keep a close eye on commercial real estate trends in Middle Tennessee, especially given the area’s growth.

I personally recommend looking into the Columbus OH market - good population growth, lots of job opportunities in a good mix of industries, and strong rental demand.

Now that Trump won the election, I wanted to get a discussion going about what potential impact this could have on towns along the Rio Grande Valley like McAllen, and Brownsville, Texas.The population growth in these towns has been great over the years making it a worthwhile investment.

Start small, make mistakes, embrace growth, and learn from others.

If you want an in-depth view I would:- Research government statistics (population growth, median prices, appreciation, etc)- Qualitative research- Go to meetups, talk to investors (you won't find it hard to find someone investing out of state in OH)- Use softwares like rentometer, Vestmap, etc that's what I always say.
