I just got 900 for a 1 br in EC, and 1700 for a 4 br in Lee Harvard, tenant pays ALL.I dont want to get into a whose rent is bigger than whose competition, I'm sure you'll win. 

After reading through so many replies, it  seems that with most syndications the GP has it where heads he wins and tails you lose. 

While it may take some bravery to invest in a neighborhood that isn't yet fully revitalized, you could be on the winning end in a few years once home values rise.

For the average investor with a high W2, the nicer asset strategy will win in the long run since the C class buildings require so much more brain power and focus.

I would venture to guess that this strategy does not work in all markets.Also for those who think just tie it up and flip to DR is something easy this is not the case.. they are famous for changing their mind and walking from EM leaving the lot developer holding the bag.. 

Do you need unique checks and balances in your away market so someone is representing your interests in the away market--yes.Slow and steady wins the race.  

If they are right, most likely chances of fighting it and winning are nil but you can try

A step further; If I see that D.T. is certain, real -world certain to win, I'm going to be going so DEEPppppp into NG position and options it's gonna be butt puckering.

At the end of the day maybe owning a rental in an IRA is not for you (it is certainly not for everybody), but trying to convince those who successfully did it that they are stupid is not a winning strategy.
