In the case of a package like you received, I would have just called or sent a text to the tenant asking them to please keep an eye out and when they see it would they mind if I come pick it up.I know of many occassions where landlords and tenants relationship goes downhill fast because the tenant feels they are being watched and the landlord feels they can just show up when they want.
