Yesssss I have just begin to discover positive affirmations, got the Power of Now book from the library as a first step and see a change in my attitude which has already started to get me more motivated and taking action.

Yes, some of them have exactly that attitude.

It takes a lot to get past the attitude that willingness, a downpayment and credit should enable (entitle) one to buy rental real estate. 

:), but I do want to address this point above, as I believe it's this attitude that often causes those outside of the investing community to look at investors as "predators."

They can do an assessment to see if he has the attitude and aptitude suited for an occupation in real estate.

I've found these guys to have a much better attitude than the old guard guys who only do one trade and try to look for any reasons to not pass you, or to tell you why they can't do something.

Many take a rather arrogant attitude, as if they know what they are doing and will continue to do things as they have 10 or 20 years ago.If a borrower is better educated in financing, you can have a much better feeling knowing that if some guy tries pulling anything you can clean their clock.

I feel that if my attitude is getting fired up by anything in my real estate business, then I am doing something wrong or perceiving things incorrectly.
