some of the biggest wealth in the US is generated by path of progress land plays usually the farmer seller to the developer.but I will give you a few of my personal land plays.1. 3.5 acres Rohnert Park CA.. when I bought it in early 90s it was unbuildable.. but it sat behind a home depot and I took a calculated risk.. now its been annexed into the city and zoned mixed use residential and sites right next to the Graton casino they built a few years ago..

You could try going to Vegas and putting it all on black...but again...not really a "good" way to make quicker money.Generally speaking real estate is a get rich slowly way of investing and not a way to get rich quick...so maybe there are other strategies for making quick money in real estate that others can suggest but I just don't know what they are. 

Especially if this is a boom area like FL, CA, or Las Vegas.

I relocated to Vegas last summer because taxes and insurance in Florida has gone through the roof (thanks to all of the huricanes) making it extremely difficult to have cash flow.

I was just reading an article Cigar Afficianado where Sheldon Adelson (#3 or 4 Billionaire in the US) is building a Las Vegas style strip and I'm 99.9% sure it was in Singapore.
