Our CPA is saying we will be classified as a dealer/trader and subject self employment tax on the first 150k then regular short term capital gains tax.

I am not a Japanese citizen but I am a permanent resident and there are no restrictions on non-Japanese owning real estate here.Basically, I just did an estate plan through this firm.

If your not interested in real estate and don't want to trade this market (it's a traders market now; not ideal for long term investment) i'd get your own fiscal house in order and hoard cash and wait for yields to rise - and rise they will.

Most millionaires in the USA drive not a luxury german car brand but a national or japanese medium size car.

As a stock trader it would have been unheard of and impossible to have traded without a broker.
