As a Seattleite who owns rentals in Tacoma - it would be a shame to have what happened up here happen down there - from a cultural and capitalist point of view.

My friends who have chosen the other route have either lost money or made returns so small that it would be completely unacceptable anywhere, save for the emotional and cultural attachment they have to New York City.

In fact, I flew back there two weeks ago and visited the downtown area and I was blown-away at the growth, the energy, friendly folks, and the culture that has sprouted up!
