Went through the work of getting it to my house and realized it wouldn't fit my base cabinets, so I needed to hire someone to cut it to fit, which also meant polishing and smoothing the edges.

We now use Buildium to manage several hundred doors, and it works fine for us--this is not a plug for them--there are many accounting programs on the market that will present a professional and polished picture to whomever is involved.Your point is well taken -- this is a business and needs a professional touch in every aspect possible.
